Melbourne’s Big Smoke champion a tradition of classic songwriting, recalling luminaries such as The Band and Big Star. Comprised of singer-songwriter Adrian Slattery, drummer, Luke Brennan and bassist, Alex O’Gorman; Big Smoke create a sound that dances its way through the history of rock ‘n’ roll, pop, folk, country and soul.

‘Try A Little Love’ is the latest single from the three-piece. Produced by Luke Brennan, the song is a glimmer of earnest folk-pop steeped in melody and melancholy. Emerging from vignettes of romance and heart- break, the hopeful refrain of Slattery’s aching vocals, accompanied by the golden harmonies of guest singer, Christian Bizzarri evoke the 60s baroque pop of The Zombies or a forgotten gem from the Lennon/McCartney songbook.

Big Smoke's live shows are executed with a flair and passion that is captivating and contagious, drawing comparisons to contemporaries such as The War On Drugs and Dawes. Recently, the group has shared stages with favourites such as New Gods, Georgia Fair and Sagamore and was also featured as a band to watch in The Age Online's 'Stage' series.
‘Try a Little Love’ is the first offering from Big Smoke’s forthcoming EP, 'Lately,' and follows on from their quality release of last year’s standalone single, ‘Colours’. ‘Try a Little Love’ comes out on First Love/Shock on February 27.
